Privacy policy

The short version

JOEY BROOKS is a series of NextCTR LLC, and this store runs on Shopify, which supplies the platform behind the website, the tools and the services we offer (together, the "Services"). This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse, buy or write to us, why we collect it and who sees it. Where anything here disagrees with our Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy controls how personal information is collected, processed and disclosed. By using the Services you acknowledge that you have read it.

What we collect, and why

"Personal information" means anything that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. Depending on how you use the store, that can be:

  • Contact details: your name, the addresses you bill and ship to, your phone number and your email, so we can take and deliver your order and talk to you about it.
  • Payment information: card details, the details of each transaction and its confirmation, all handled by our payment gateways, so you can pay and we can process refunds.
  • Account information (username, password, preferences), if you open an account.
  • Shopping information (what you view, add to your cart, buy, return or exchange), to run the store and shape what we show you.
  • What you write to us when you contact support.
  • Device and usage information (device, browser, IP address and how you move around the site), for security, fraud prevention and to keep the site working.

Some of it comes straight from you when you order, register or write in. Some is picked up automatically as you browse, through cookies, pixels and similar tools. Some arrives from the companies we work with: advertising partners such as Google, and Shopify, our platform.

Beyond providing and improving the Services (payments, orders, shipping, your account, support and the transactional emails about your order), we use personal information for marketing and targeted advertising: Google Analytics, tracking pixels and remarketing cookies let us show JOEY BROOKS advertisements across the Google network and on other platforms, keyed to what you browsed and bought. We also use it to authenticate accounts, secure the checkout and detect or investigate fraud, and to meet our legal obligations, answer legal process and enforce our terms.

Who sees it

  • Fulfillment and logistics partners and carriers get the shipping and contact details they strictly need to deliver your order.
  • Shopify and our other vendors run payment processing, analytics and cloud storage for us.
  • Advertising partners such as Google receive data that supports our targeted advertising. You can ask us to stop sharing it for targeted advertising by using the opt out links on those platforms or your browser's global privacy controls.
  • In a business transaction, or when the law requires it, to meet a legal obligation, to enforce our policies or to protect our users' rights.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can opt out of having your personal information processed for targeted advertising, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals from your browser. You can leave our marketing emails at any time with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights, and we may first need to confirm your identity.

Shopify

What you submit to us goes to Shopify, which processes it to run and improve the Services, and Shopify may use personal information about how you interact with our store to offer enhanced features across its merchant network. Shopify's own consumer privacy policy is at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

Links, children, security and retention

The site may link to other platforms; we are not responsible for their privacy practices or security, so read their policies. The Services are not aimed at children and we do not knowingly gather personal information from minors; if you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it. No online platform is perfectly secure, but we use industry standard measures to protect your data, and we keep personal information only as long as we need it to maintain your account, fulfill orders, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
